HalfHeart is designed as a private daily check-in for two paired people. This policy explains what information is collected, why it is used, and the choices you have.
We collect the information needed to create and operate your account, including your email address, display name, account identifier, partner email, pair identifier, notification token, and basic app activity required to provide the service.
When you use HalfHeart, we store your daily heart choice, selected reasons, optional comments, and the date of the entry. This information is used to show your check-in history and to share the relevant daily status with your paired partner.
Pairing uses email addresses and a shared pair identifier so two accounts can see each other's daily status. Only your paired partner can see the check-in information intended for the pair.
If you allow notifications, HalfHeart may store a device notification token and use it to send app reminders or partner check-in notifications. You can control notification permissions in iOS Settings.
The iOS widget uses Apple App Groups to store a small local copy of your latest pair status on your device, including names, today's heart statuses, and the last sync time. This local widget data is used only to render the widget and can be cleared by signing out, resetting the connection, or deleting the account.
HalfHeart uses Firebase services, including Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Firebase Cloud Messaging, and Firebase Hosting, to run account, database, notification, and legal-page features. Apple services may be used for App Store distribution, in-app review prompts, and iOS widget functionality.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use HalfHeart check-in content for third-party advertising.
We keep account and check-in information while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can reset your pair connection, delete entries where available, or delete your account in the app. Account deletion removes your account profile and is intended to remove associated app data from active use.
We use Firebase and Apple platform security features to help protect your information. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so you should use a strong password and keep your device secure.
HalfHeart is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
You may update account information in the app where supported, control notification permissions through iOS, reset your pair connection, sign out, or delete your account. You may contact us for privacy questions or deletion help.
